Tifnit, 45 km south of Agadir on the Atlantic coast, the fishermen built shelters that have become a beautiful fishing village, with its unique panorama of Troglodytic Houses, Blue Boats and wild beach. Fishing is the main activity (Sar, Calmar, Seiche, Lotte, Loup, Maquereau, Sole, Saint Pierre, Poulpe...). It has become a favorite spot for surfers, and a popular destination for tourists and Moroccans alike.

Tifnit Fishing Village

We continue on the southern road and take the deviation to the right towards the fishing village of Tifnit, {demolished by the authorities at the beginning of 2024 for cause, Construction in the maritime domain without a permit} … Photo stop and a short walk on the beach to appreciate nature, the small motor boats and the fish, then we continue towards the village of Sidi Rbat, via a sand track along the wild Atlantic coast... (20km & 2 hours from track).

Cave House

These Troglodyte Houses provide shelter for fishermen and allow them to stay for a few days at the edge of the ocean and to fish and also keep their equipment and their belongings by their side, then leave once a week to see their families in the village further...

Mouth of the Oued Massa and the Souss Massa National Park

We cross the village of Sidi Rbat to descend to the mouth of the wadi massa, to find a beautiful lagoon where the wadi massa and the Atlantic Ocean meet, it is part of the National Park of Souss Massa. Privileged place of many species of migratory birds and also the last refuge of the bald ibis, it is the mouth of wadi massa which generously offers this greenery in the middle of a desert landscape, it makes a beautiful contrast.

The Estuary of Oued Massa has been on the Ramsar list since January 2005, located on one of the main migration routes for water birds, and this because of the role it plays in the conservation of biodiversity in general and waterfowl in particular.

The "RAMSAR" Convention on Wetlands of International Importance is an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands aimed at halting the degradation and loss of wetlands, today and tomorrow, by recognizing the functions fundamental ecological values of these, as well as economic, cultural, scientific and recreational values.
